In this day and age, no one can be sure they can't be infiltrated by hackers.
At BrainChild Branding, security is our number one priority. However, we've seen an increase of using one's blog as an area where code can be put in to a comment on your latest blog.
For example, someone comments on your latest blog that looks like they appreciate the information you've shared, but they've put a URL in the code simply to benefit their product. For example, "I really like this blog" looks innocuous but at the end of it they've added a URL like Jerzyshirts.com.
If you have one of our sites and have a blog, you know you have a chance to Accept or Decline the comment. You would, of course, decline that comment.
However, by declining the comment, it is not removed from your Blog Comments area; it just doesn't show up on your blog.
Now, we're finding that's not good enough. The Declined comment is still sitting in your Blog Comment database. So, we have to take more action.
If you have a BrainChild Branding site with a blog, you must go into the Administrative Area, and delete that comment in your Blog Comments area.
For those of you who we do Extended Aftercare, we do this on a monthly basis.
For those of you who don't have Extended Aftercare, get in touch with us at 954-990-5633 and we will walk you through the steps on how to do this.
Make it part of your monthly housekeeping of your website!
